Resolute Photonics was founded in 2018 to provide design, research and development and consultancy services for system, board and chip level optical and photonic integration for data centre, HPC and IoT data-communications applications.
About Dr. Richard Pitwon
Chief Executive Officer
Richard Pitwon is a director, technologist and engineer with more than 18 years transformational expertise in optical and photonic system interconnect, integration and architectures for data centre, IoT and data-communications applications.
- Extensive experience in managing international, multi-million dollar collaborative research and development programmes, skilled in building multi-disciplinary teams to deliver advanced system solutions and coordinating across multiple geographies.
- Holds 51 patents, authored over 45 peer-reviewed publications including 4 international standards and given over 60 public talks.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng), Fellow of the IET (FIET), Fellow of the Institute of Physics (FInstP).
- Chair of IEC international standards subcommittee on fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components (SC86B). Secretary of IEC optical circuit boards standards group and principal UK expert on international standards groups (IEC / BSI) for optical interconnect, photonic integrated circuits and electronic assembly.
- Dr. Pitwon has organised many symposia and conferences. including the annual Symposia on Optical Interconnect in Data Centres, co-located with European Conference on Optical Communcation.
- As the current Chair of IEEE UK and Ireland Photonics Chapter he is also the founder and chair of the flagship IEEE British and Irish Conference on Optics and Photonics (BICOP).
About Anna Hughes: Director of Operations
Anna Hughes oversees company operations including collaborative research and development projects (Horizon 2020, InnovateUK) and conferences. She draws on her extensive background in professional learning and resource management both in the public sector and Further/Higher education, including people, budget and project management.
As Director of Operations in Resolute Photonics, she also oversees staff recruitment, training and facilities.
